DESCRIPTION:
SUSE has issued an update for gypsy. This fixes a weakness and a
vulnerability, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to
potentially disclose sensitive information and potentially gain
escalated privileges.
1) The application does not properly verify files before opening them
for reading and can be exploited to read arbitrary files with root
privileges.
2) Certain errors in multiple functions within the NMEA parser can
potentially be exploited to cause buffer overflows.
SOLUTION:
Apply updated packages via the zypper package manager.
