DESCRIPTION:
Francis Provencher has discovered a vulnerability in IrfanView, which
can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing TIFF
images with certain "Rows Per Strip" and "Samples Per Pixel" values,
which can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow by
tricking a user into opening a specially crafted TIFF image file.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 4.30. Prior versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 4.32.
