Ubuntu Security Notice 3767-2 - USN-3767-1 fixed a vulnerability in GLib. This update provides the corresponding update for Ubuntu 12.04 ESM. It was discovered that GLib incorrectly handled certain files. An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary code. Various other issues were also addressed.

Several security issues were fixed in GLib.

Software Description:
- glib2.0: GLib Input, Output and Streaming Library (fam module)

Details:

USN-3767-1 fixed a vulnerability in GLib. This update provides
the corresponding update for Ubuntu 12.04 ESM.

Original advisory details:

It was discovered that GLib incorrectly handled certain files.
An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause a denial of service
or execute arbitrary code. (CVE-2018-16428)

An attacker could possibly use this issue to access sensitive
information. (CVE-2018-16429)

Update instructions:

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:

Ubuntu 12.04 ESM:
libglib2.0-0 2.32.4-0ubuntu1.1
libglib2.0-bin 2.32.4-0ubuntu1.1
libglib2.0-dev 2.32.4-0ubuntu1.1

After a standard system update you need to reboot your computer to make
all the necessary changes.
