DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Symantec Backup Exec, which can
be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service)
and potentially compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the
handling of input sent to an RPC interface. This can be exploited to
cause a heap-based buffer overflow by sending specially crafted calls
to the vulnerable RPC interface.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is reported in the following versions:
