TITLE:
Acc Autos Cross-Site Scripting and Security Issue
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA37698
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/37698/
DESCRIPTION:
bi0 has discovered a vulnerability and a security issue in Acc Autos,
which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion
attacks and by malicious people to disclose sensitive information.
1) Input passed via the "input_description" form field to index.php
when updating an agent's profile is not properly sanitised before
being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script
code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of
an affected site when the malicious data is being viewed.
2) A security issue is caused due to the application saving database
backups within the "temp" directory, which can be exploited to
download a full database backup.
The vulnerability and the security issue are confirmed in version
5.0. Other versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
Restrict access to the "temp" directory.
