DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Ghostscript, which can be
exploited by malicious people to potentially compromise a user's
system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the
"errprintf()" function in base/gsmisc.c. This can be exploited to
cause a stack-based buffer overflow via e.g. a specially crafted PDF
file printed through CUPS.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is reported in versions 8.64 and 8.70. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Do not process untrusted PDF or postscript files.
