DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Ingres, which can be exploited
by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and
potentially compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the processing of
packets sent to the Ingres Database Server (iidbms) port and can be
exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow.
The vulnerability is reported in version 9.3. Other versions may also
be affected.
SOLUTION:
Restrict access to the affected service.
