TITLE:
Apache ActiveMQ Script Insertion and Cross-Site Request Forgery
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA39223
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/39223/
DESCRIPTION:
Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Apache ActiveMQ, which can
be exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks
and by malicious people to conduct cross-site request forgery
attacks.
1) Input passed via the "JMSDestination" to /createDestination.action
is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to
insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a
user's browser session in context of an affected site when the
malicious data is viewed.
2) The web console application allows user to perform certain actions
via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to verify the
requests. This can be exploited to perform unspecified actions if a
logged-in user visits a specially crafted web site.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 5.3.1.
