DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in hsolinkcontrol, which can
be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
1) The application uses command line parameters in e.g. calls to the
"system()" function, which can be exploited to inject and execute
arbitrary commands with root privileges.
2) Various boundary errors within the processing of command line
parameters can be exploited to cause stack-based buffer overflows and
e.g. execute arbitrary code with root privileges.
SOLUTION:
Restrict access to trusted users only.
